Our story

Since it was founded in 2013 the business has grown to become one of the UK’s largest producers of SRF and RDF, which it supplies to both domestic and international markets. In 2017 Louis Calders and Martin Graves, two of the sector’s leading alternative fuels and logistics experts, joined the Group and Eco-Power Fuels was born.

Louis Calders

Commercial Director

Louis has over 25 years’ experience in the European waste derived fuels market. Prior to founding Eco-Power Fuels Louis was Commercial Director of an export business where he was responsible establishing fully managed international SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) and RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) off-take solutions.

His earlier career includes held a number of senior roles in the UK recycling and resource management sector. This included over five years as director of alternative fuels for Shanks Waste Management and more recently acting as an independent consultant to some of the UKs largest SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) and RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) producers.

Martin Graves

Operations & Logistics Director

Martin Graves is one of the UK’s leading authorities on terminal and port logistics. Prior to founding Eco-Power Fuels Martin worked as freelance consultant harnessing his extensive network to find clients innovative and cost-effective routes.

Martin has also held senior roles DFDS, where he was the Operations & Logistics Director, including the company’s SRF and RDF cargos. Martin’s logistics career started in 1991 following his service in the British military.
